NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has captured a small section of the debris of one of the best-known supernova remnants – Veil Nebula – in stunning detail. The image shows wisps of gas, which are all that remain of what was once a star 20 times more massive than our sun after it exploded 8,000 years ago. Here, red corresponds to the glow of hydrogen; green from sulphur; and blue from oxygen.
