Conventional ovens and muffle furnaces remain essential laboratory tools for ashing, loss on ignition, residue on ignition and fusion, but these methods can be slow, labour-intensive and dependent on manual handling, with potential exposure to unpleasant or hazardous vapours.
Microwave-enhanced furnace technology provides a faster, cleaner alternative.
