What makes labs reliable?
What makes a laboratory reliable?
The answer isn't just instruments or analytical methods. It's the infrastructure, workflows, environments and human systems that support them.
That's the thinking behind the newly relaunched Back of Book section in the current edition of Laboratory News, which you can view here on page 27.
Over the next six issues we'll be exploring themes including sample integrity, laboratory environments, instrument reliability, workflow design, automation, quality control and contamination management, looking at the practical foundations that underpin good science across sectors.
The first issue focuses on Sample Integrity: examining how handling, storage, workflow and laboratory design influence scientific reliability long before analysis begins.
Many thanks to the contributors helping us shape this new direction. We're looking forward to developing the conversation over the coming year.
