This incredible image was awarded ‘Image of Distinction’ status in the 2018 Nikon Small World competition.
It shows human neurons in culture from Parkinson patients and was taken by Dr Regis Grail, Nasia Antoniou and Dr Rebecca Matsas from the Institute Pasteur in South Korea using confocal techniques.
