In tandem with Arizona State University and UNSW Australia, research collaborations will take place to address health, social justice, innovation and sustainability issues.
Professor Edward Bryne, President of King’s College London said the partnership would being together some of the best minds on the planet, tackling many questions which would not be possible for one institution to do alone. “This partnership represents both a significant commitment and unique opportunity to create impactful solutions for a sustainable future,” he added.
Launched on the 9th February, more than 60 PLuS Alliance Fellows have been announced, with a total of 100 hoped before the end of the year.
Greater access to education was key to solving the problems facing humankind, said Dr Michael Crow, President of Arizona State University. “The PLuS Alliance will deliver an exceptional international learning experience that builds on our established record of innovative online course delivery,” he said.
More than 20 programmes will be on offer from September 2016, including undergraduate degrees in sustainability, global health and community health. Postgraduate degrees available will include Science of Healthcare Delivery, Infectious Diseases Intelligence and Sustainability Leadership.
Professor Ian Jacobs, President at UNSW Australia, said: “The PLuS Alliance brings together three world-leading universities that share an ambition to improve lives by working together on ambitious educational and research initiatives.”
