Wessex Water awarded for top scientific staff

Wessex Water has been awarded CPD Approved Employer by the Science Council to acknowledge the high quality of scientific staff testing water and ensuring that regulatory standards are met.
Wessex Water’s scientific centre at Saltford, Bath, samples the regional water supply on regular basis to ensure that high quality of drinking water is delivered to customers. Wessex Water also tests treated waste water before industrial companies return it to the environment making sure the quality of rivers and the sea is maintained across the area which includes Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Bristol and Bath.
Helen Shapland, head of analytical services at Wessex Water, said: “It’s a great accomplishment to be accredited for our ongoing commitment to training and the quality of our staff. We are committed to support the important role of our scientists who carry out one million tests a year to protect public health and the environment and ensure we comply with stringent quality standards.”
The scientific centre has around 70 staff that carry out one million tests a year on water and waste water samples.
