Cleaver Scientific scooped first prize in the Lion’s Lair at LABINNOVATIONS for its ‘Safe’ Series, designed to make DNA electrophoresis procedures safer, more convenient and more economical.
The ‘Safe’ series eliminates the need for Ethidium Bromide and ultraviolet light, without compromising the results of electrophoresis procedures. It comprises of runSafe, a completely safe stain for DNA; runView, a gel electrophoresis system using safe blue light; and runDoc, a bench top gel documentation system which enables multiple real-time imaging of the process..
“Winning Lion’s Lair is a great boost for safe electrophoresis and endorsement for product development at Cleaver Scientific,” said sales and marketing manager Alan Phillips.
The company were one of five exhibitors pitching their organisation’s new product to a panel of three judges: Warren Jackson of Premier Foods, Jeremy Hargreeves of Nestle, and Laboratory News editor, Phil Prime. Together with the audience, the judges selected their winner based on product, efficiency, innovation and presentation style.
