Microfluidics competition
2 Oct 2013 by Evoluted New Media
Could you design the next generation of microfluidics equipment – then Dolomite need you!
The Productizing Science Competition – now in its second year – is looking for innovative microfluidics concepts to turn into a commercial reality. This competition gives entrants the chance to develop their idea into a commercially successful product – and share in the rewards – backed by Dolomite’s commercial expertise and understanding of the microfluidics market.
Dolomite has already developed Mitos Dropix – an innovative droplet system providing flexible and automated solution for droplet-on-demand applications – with one of last year’s winners, Drop-Tech. It features a patented droplet “picking” technology and was developed in just under a year, with the company taking orders for delivery in early 2014.
“In a university environment, finding the time to convert an invention into a product is often difficult,” said Liisa van Vilet, Managing Director of Drop-Tech, formed from academic collaboration between Imperial College London and the University of Cambridge.
“Dolomite knows and understands microfluidic drop technologies and had the engineering expertise to productise the solution.”
Entries for this years’ competition close on 25th November 2013. For more information visit www.dolomite-microfluidics.com/en/design/competition
