Schoolchildren are getting the chance to cook up their own product to display and sell among the exhibitors at this year’s Science World.
As part of the Science World challenge, 14 pupils from Limehurst School in Loughborough will use their creative and business skills to promote a scientific product alongside 80 world-class suppliers at Wembley Stadium in April.
“We’re really excited by the opportunity to get involved with a massive event like Science World,” said Matthew Chamberlain, science teacher at Limehurst. “The pupils are in their element coming up with creative ideas and ways to display and sell their product, and Fisher Scientific is able to provide valuable support to help them shine in the commercial world.”
“We’re sure the experience gained in the project will stay with them for years to come.”
The project is the brainchild of Chamerlain and Emily Quinton, marketing operations manager at Fisher Scientific UK.
“It is a privilege to work with pupils on this; their energy and creativity is an inspiration,” said Quinton. “We hope that by working with Fisher Scientific they will see firsthand how science translates to the world of work.”
This year’s Science World Show will take place on 19th April at Wembley Stadium – the keynote speaker will be Professor Brian Cox.
