sameAs is a regular meetup in London that brings together interesting people from diverse backgrounds to discuss science, technology and everything in-between. From artists and writers, to scientists and software developers: sameAs helps bring disparate communities and individuals under one roof for regular conversation and reveal the threads that stitch them all together
May's sameAs is on surroundings and features an all-star line-up including leading science communicators, professional storytellers, and data visualisation experts.
Join us for an evening chock-full of their favourite anecdotes, insights and perspectives, highlighting how this month's topic affects those in the sciences, arts, and media. We have an incredible programme for the night, including leading historians, climate science writers and researchers, technologists tackling the botanical world, and materials experts. Matt Brown: Editor, Londonist
Andrew Pontzen: Cosmologist, Oxford
Mark Miodownik: Professor of Materials, UCL (RI Christmas lecturer 2010)
Gaia Vance: Science writer, specialising in climate science and studies of the anthropocene.
Mike Saunders: formerly head of digital at Kew Gardens, now at Artfinder.
The event will take place at our usual venue, the second floor of The Driver, 2-4 Wharfdale Rd (N1 9RY), in Kings Cross from 7pm.
