Azenta’s Oxford genomics lab to open in March
21 Dec 2023
Azenta Life Sciences has selected Oxford as the location for its state of the art genomics lab opening in early 2024.
The Oxford Genomics Lab will draw on expertise from the former Oxford Genomics Centre (OGC), which served leading academic institutions, pharmaceutical and biotech companies for more than two decades.
The former OGC chief Dr David Buck will head the new lab, to be equipped with the latest next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology.
“We are excited to announce our new genomic services facility to the UK scientific community,” said Buck. “The OGC team members are excited to be transitioning to the new Oxford Genomics Lab, providing NGS services continuity to the Oxford scientific community.”
NGS services provided by the Oxford Genomics Lab at opening will include RNA/DNA extraction, library preparation, sequencing, and bioinformatics analysis, from project design through to delivery. The new lab is expected to begin full operations in March next year.
