Laboratory and process instrumentation and automation supplier Endress+Hauser Group has announced the death of the newly appointed head of its key centre for level and pressure management.
Dr Dirk Mörmann, managing director of the Endress+Hauser Level+Pressure competence centre, was killed in a car accident while returning from a business meeting, said the company.
He took over as head of the subsidiary at Maulburg, Germany in January last year, when his predecessor Dr Peter Selders took over as CEO for the parent company based in Reinach, Switzerland.
“We are all deeply shocked and saddened by the news. Our thoughts at this moment are with his wife, his three children and all his relatives,” said Selders.
“Dr Mörmann left a lasting impression on us in a short space of time, particularly through his warm-hearted personality. We will miss him.”
Mörmann, 51, joined Endress+Hauser in May 2022, with responsibility for technology. Previously, he was head of strategic marketing at KROHNE Messtechnik GmbH and a member of its extended executive board.
Endress+Hauser Level+Pressure employs more than 2,000 people worldwide, with additional sites in Stahnsdorf, Germany, plus associated product centres in the US, China, Japan, India and Brazil. Overall, the Endress+Hauser Group employs 16,500 people globally.
Following Dr Mörmann’s death on 25 March, his management team will run the level and pressure business until further notice, announced the Group statement.
